• To condemn Government Order on 30 percent fee cut

• No online classes on Tuesday

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly condemning the Government directive asking Private Schools to cut down school fees by 30 percent, Private Schools across the State will hold a massive convention at Bengaluru tomorrow (Feb.23).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, CISPMAM (CBSE, ICSE and State Board Private School Managements Association) Founder-President Sudhakar S. Shetty said that the Government has issued an  order asking Private Schools to cut down development fee by 30 percent this year, which is not only unscientific but irrational. 

Maintaining that the Government order will badly hurt the revenues of Schools, which are already reeling under the effects of COVID-19 crisis, Shetty said that the order will also affect the cordial relationship between school managements and parents of students. As such, Private School owners, administrators and other staff will hold a mammoth convention in Bengaluru tomorrow to register their protest against the unscientific order of the Government. 

Ahead of the convention, a rally will be taken out at 9.30 am from KSR Bengaluru (Majestic) Railway Station to Freedom Park, where the convention will take place.

Clarifying that there will be no online classes tomorrow in the wake of convention, Shetty urged the Government not to force Schools to get ‘No Objection Certificates’ from Fire and Emergency Services Department and the PWD while applying for renewal of licence, as insisting on them, will be problematic for old school buildings.

Maintaining that the Government failed in announcing a special package for Private Schools in the wake of COVID-19 crisis, he said that Schools have suffered severe losses due to closure of educational institutions for nearly 10 months, with no financial support from the Government. He urged the Government to announce  waiver of electricity bill, property tax, water bill and school vehicle insurance  for the current academic year in the wake of losses suffered by the schools.
