Prize winners of ‘Brain Bytes’ 2022 Quiz Competition

Mysuru: Over 200 Pre-University students from more than 20 colleges in Mysuru participated in Brain Bytes-2022, a quiz competition organised by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at its premises in Bogadi here recently.

The quiz competition was held with the aim of preparing students to meet the demands of an ever-changing competitive world, besides helping them break the monotony of their everyday academic routine. The contestants participated in five rounds — Riddles, Click & Lock (online), Buzzer (Audio-Visual), Connect-the-Dots and the final Rapid-Fire.

The winners of the competition are as follows: First Prize: B. Samarth and Pratham Adithya of Jnanodaya PU College, Mysuru; Second Prize: Vaishnav Kiran and S. Karthik of Jnanodaya PU College, Mysuru; Third Prize: M.J. Jnanesh and Varun Varsha of Gopalaswamy PU College, Mysuru.

Mementos and cash prizes were awarded to the top three winning teams. As a gesture to encourage the young minds, even the 12 semi-finalists were also awarded with cash prizes.

Director Brahmachari Anantaananda Chaitanya, Correspondent Brahmachari Muktidamrta Chaitanya, Principal Dr. G. Ravindranath, Academic Coordinator Dr. Rekha Bhat and others were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the chief guest of the day, R.A. Chethan Ram, Dean and Managing Trustee, Parivarthana School, Srirangapatna, primarily addressed the uniqueness of human beings in possessing a ‘brain’ or a conscience. He emphasised on the innumerable possibilities that our brain is capable of and enlightened the students with his rich and varied experience.

He reiterated that knowledge, skills and attitude are three key aspects for students to develop and hone, as these are the proven pillars for a successful career and peace of mind. He emphasised on the importance of being a ‘becomer’ rather than just a ‘watcher’, to bring about meaningful change in society.

Chethan Ram said that he motivates students to approach exams and life as a celebration, as we tend to excel in things that we enjoy.

Another guest, K. Padma, Principal, Jnanodaya PU College, Mysuru, highlighted the importance of education in one’s life and how one must be ready to go through all the challenges of academic journey. She also stated that our past failures need to be disregarded and taken as learning steps to improving ourselves. Through a lively approach and examples, she emphasised that all our experiences and learnings help us and prepare us to face real life challenges.
