July 18, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: A Railway employee, lured by an online advertisement about various products being sold at very low prices, has been duped of over Rs. 1.52 lakh. The man, who was cheated, is 40-year-old N.E. Girish Kumar, a resident of Raghavendranagar.

Girish, who received a website link on his WhatsApp number, clicked on the link only to see an advertisement offering various products at a very less price.

Believing the advertisement, Girish transferred a total sum of Rs. 1,52,089 in stages for the purchase of products but did not receive the products and has thus been cheated.

A case has been registered at Cyber, Economic and Narcotics (CEN) Crime Police Station.
