Prof. Aravind Malagatti and Prof. K.S. Bhagawan get bail in Bhagavad Gita burning remark

January 5, 2018

Mysuru: The Fourth JMFC Court has granted bail to University of Mysore (UoM) faculty Prof. Aravind Malagatti and writer Prof. K.S. Bhagawan, who were accused of making remarks on burning Bhagavad Gita.

The two who appeared before the Court on Thursday, were granted bail. Another UoM faculty Prof. B.P. Mahesh Chandra Guru, who is also an accused in the case, had obtained bail much earlier.

Following a complaint, the Jayalakshmipuram Police had registered a case against the three on charges that they had hurt religious sentiment by stating that Bhagavad Gita should be burnt at a seminar held in Feb. 2015.

The Court, which heard the case, had ordered the two to appear before it on Thursday for breaching of conditions of anticipatory bail.

Following the Court’s direction, Prof. Malagatti and Prof. Bhagawan appeared before the Court yesterday where they were granted bail.

No big deal! Even if they burn all the Hindu religious books, nothing great! Many rulers like Tippu, Gazni and Ghori Mohammed, JNU intelectuals have done in in larger scale!
If these people are really courageous, let them just say they are thinking to burn Quran, need not burn it, and they will be counting days!

prof.malagatti and prof.bhagavan are in the congres boat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! encouraging these two idiots shows how much of hatred on hindus is there from the congres ministry. they must also be burnt !

  2. Prakash says:

This shows how tolerant Hindus are! If he did similsr remarks about other religions, jail would be the only safe place and bail would be like a death warrant!

Malagatti and Bhagawan appear to be spiritual paupers. They may burn paper copies of the Bhagavad Gita but they cannot put out the spiritual flame of Hinduism and the profound life lessons that the Bhagavad Gita has to offer.

  4. Thethreewisemen says:

If these 2 idiots had remarked about Quran, they will be now hiding from the Fatwa of death from an Imam in a Muslim-rich Mohalla!

  5. Prakash R says:

Prof. Bhagwan and Prof. Malagatti are well educated scholars. They have written several books and they are also rational thinkers. In India, there is freedom of expression for all citizens. Rational thinkers question the old systems, superstitious beliefs, flaws in the religious practices etc. Here many people may not know the meaning of ‘rational thinking’. If one does not understand it, then they can’t understand the opinions of the two professors.
A country will flourish with knowledge if there are thinkers like Prof. Malagatti and Prof. Bhagwan. Let us tolerate the expressions of them and if we don’t like it, lets ignore it. If there are no rational thinkers, then our country becomes a country of superstitions. Do we want a progressive country or a superstitious one ??

    • dr.m.shanthakumar says:

these two idiots are the bane of this country. thinking irrationally. let us sail with our old tradition- but not this rascals views of changing the culture, food habits, hindutava ? i am really sorry mr. Prakash you are totally irrational in your views. if these profesors feel they are rational let them keep themself and follow whatever they feel. totally they have no right to express their worst ideologies in the news papers against the principles large majority of indians who have have accepted the same..
thres is freedom of expressions for all citizens and hence my freedom of expressing about this three rational thinkers ( prof.malagatti, prof.bhagavan and yourself. ) who are spoiling the image of the country. The country needs good thinkers who think about the country – but not like this what sita did ? someone else did ? this clearly shows which direction you three are thinking of the country.

    • Prakask says:
