A National-level Seminar on ‘Facets of Indian Nationalism’ was organised by the Department of History, Teresian College, in collaboration with Karnataka History Forum and Malabar Institute for Research and Development, Vadakara, Kerala, on Mar.30 and 31.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. B. Sheik Ali, eminent Historian and former VC of Mangalore & Goa Universities, in the presence of chief guests Prof. K.K.N. Kurup, former VC of Calicut, Prof. Sebastian Joseph, former Chairman of DoS in History, University of Mysore and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sheik Ali said that the message of this seminar is to make India a global leader.
Prof. Kurup, who also spoke, said that the result of nationalism in India is secularism which brought cultural unification.
The beauty of Indian Nationalism is secularism and bringing all class of people under a nation called India.
Dr. Sr. Genevieve, Administrator, Teresian College and Sr. Anjiali, Manager, were the guests of honour.
Prof. V.K. Jose, Principal of Teresian Degree College, welcomed. The seminar was co-ordinated by Dr. Sr. Ann Mary, Head, Department of History, Teresian College.
Dr. Sr. Sajitha, Director, Teresian Institutions, proposed a vote of thanks.
More than 50 delegates and paper presenters and research scholars from Goa, Chennai and Callicut University attended.
