Programme to mark International Day of Disabled

Mysuru: Marking the International Day of Disabled, Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) has organised a function at Town Hall premises here tomorrow (Dec.26) at 10 am. Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, SVYM Founder Dr. R. Balasubramaniam said  that over 1,500 physically challenged people would participate in the function.

He further said that the theme of the programme is ‘Empowerment of the physically challenged with a guarantee of equality and social inclusion.’

The aim is to ensure good medical care for the physically challenged, create awareness to prevent disability, provide medical certificate, ID card and other benefits to them. He added that State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities V.S. Basavaraj, ZP CEO K. Jyothi and others will participate in the programme.
