Mysuru: In the wake of tensions during Hanuma Jayanti celebrations at Hunsur in the district recently, progressive organisations have decided to take out a rally in Hunsur on Dec.11 to create awareness against communal forces.
At a round table meeting convened by Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagruti Samithi in association with Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (DSS), CPM and other like-minded organisations at a private hotel here on Thursday, it was decided to hold a similar rally in Mysuru in the coming days to vouch for communal harmony in the society.
The meeting passed many resolutions which included petitioning President Ram Nath Kovind seeking to disqualify Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, sacking of Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde for his frequent vituperative remarks aimed at scuttling peace in the society, condemnation of BJP and Sangh Parivar and launching of a fight-against those leaders who have been making baseless comments against the Indian Constitution.
The round table meeting also deliberated on the situation that has emerged following the recently concluded Dharma Samsad in Udupi.
The speakers included former Chairperson of State Women’s Commission Manjula Manasa, Writer Prof. Kalegowda Nagavara, Dr. Lakshminarayan of PUCL, Prof. B.P. Mahesh Chandra Guru and others.
