Property feud: Man kills brother

Nanjangud: A fight which began over property issue resulted in a man allegedly murdering his younger brother at Mellahalli village in Nanjangud taluk on Saturday.

The deceased is Govinda Nayaka (35), while the accused brother is Rangaswamy, who has gone absconding.

It is learnt that frequent fights used to take place between the brothers over a property and villagers used to intervene and stop the fights. Yesterday also, a fight broke out between Govinda and Rangaswamy and the villagers again intervened and had stopped the fight.

But Rangaswamy, who again started a fight over breaking of a lock by Govinda and when Govinda went to sleep, Rangaswamy is said to have assaulted Govinda with a machete and the profusely bleeding Govinda was being rushed to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru where he breathed his last mid way. Doddakavalande Sub-Inspector Mahendra visited the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and has launched a hunt to nab Rangaswamy, who is absconding.
