Mysore/Mysuru: Opposing the move by the Centre to privatise Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), the members of BEML Employees Association, who have been protesting against the move, submitted a memorandum to Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh in city yesterday.

The Association members met the MP, who was in city to attend a programme organised at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, and informed her that there were hundreds of employees working at this Public Sector Undertaking, which is making profits since 53 years and manufacturing defence related equipment besides stating that it was not a right move by the Centre to privatise BEML.

They urged the MP to raise a voice on their behalf at the Parliament and urge the Centre to drop the privatisation move.
