Mysuru: Various organisations staged separate protests for various reasons in city yesterday.

About 20 members under the banner of BJP KR Constituency and led by former Minister S.A. Ramdas, staged a protest in front of RTO (West) condemning the single seat rule for 100CC vehicles.

The protesters, terming the rule as unscientific as it would lead to increase in two-wheeler population resulting in pollution, said that the rule will make the lives of middle class people miserable as they cannot afford to buy two-wheelers for each person of the family.

The protesters were joined by the students of Hardwicke PU College. A memorandum was submitted to the Regional Transport Officer later.

Post Card campaign: About 15 members of Prajnavantha Nagarika Vedike, condemning the single seat rule, staged a Post Card campaign in front of MCC here yesterday.

The protesters urged the Chief Minister through postcards to re-examine the order as it would be a bane to the middle class people.

Protest against Central Government’s failure in providing jobs: In another protest against the Central Government’s failure in providing jobs to youth, members of Mysuru District Rural Youth Congress staged a protest at Nehru Circle here yesterday.

They alleged that the promise by the BJP to provide jobs to over two crore youths has just remained as assurance though more than three years have passed since the BJP came to power in the Centre.

The protesters urged the Prime Minister to fulfil his promise and warned that the youths would come to the street if the promise of providing jobs was not fulfilled.

Karnataka Dalita Sangarsha Samithi: Urging the State Government not to include Madiwala and Savitha Samaja communities to the list of Scheduled Castes, a group of people under the banner of Karnataka Dalita Sangarsha Samithi, staged a protest in front of the DC’s office here yesterday.

The protesters also urged the State Government to appoint Dalit Priests to Muzrai Temples as done in Kerala to provide social justice to them.

Protest for houses: Meanwhile, members of Tulasi Women Self Help Group and Jai Bheem Yuva Sene staged a protest in front of the DC’s office here yesterday urging the State Government to provide them houses in Dharam Singh Colony ‘B’ Block in city.

Stating that they would lend all support to the initiative of MLA M.K. Somashekar to demolish old houses and build new ones in their places, they warned of intensifying their protest if their demands were not met soon.
