Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing Home Minister Araga Jnanendra and BJP National General Secretary C.T. Ravi of issuing provocative statements aimed at disturbing communal harmony, a delegation of City and District Congress leaders lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner seeking legal action against the two BJP leaders.
The delegation, which visited the office of the City Police Commissioner at Nazarbad on Saturday, handed over the complaint addressed to the Police Commissioner to DCP (Law and Order) Pradeep Gunti.
Charging Home Minister Araga Jnanendra and C.T. Ravi of issuing provocative statements following the murder of a youth in Bengaluru earlier this week, the Congress leaders urged the Police to immediately initiate legal action against the two, as per law of the land.
Alleging that the statements of the two leaders are aimed at disturbing peace and harmony in the society, they said that these statements are made only out of political considerations, targeting a community. They wanted the Police to book the two under various Sections of IPC for creating disharmony and loss of public properties.
City Congress President R. Murthy, District President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, Legal Cell President Palya Suresh and a host of other Congress leaders were present.
