Mysore/Mysuru: A 1st PU student has reportedly committed suicide by hanging self at his room in the hostel at Paduvarahalli yesterday.

The deceased student is Dikshit (16), son of Sridhar of Antharasanthe, who was pursuing his 1st PU course at a private college in city.

Dikshit, who returned to the hostel yesterday morning after Dasara holidays, hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his room when others had gone to the college.

Jayalakshmipuram Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.
