Public nab cell phone thief

Mysuru: A miscreant, who had snatched a mobile phone of a woman and was trying to flee, was caught by the public and handed over to the Police last evening.

The incident took place at Dodda Vokkalageri 4th Cross on KRS Road. The accused is 20-year-old Suhail Pasha of Mandi Mohalla in city.

On Sunday evening, the woman, identified as Manjula, was holding her mobile phone and standing in front of her house when Suhail allegedly snatched the phone and tried to flee from the spot.

As Manjula screamed for help, the members of the public chased Suhail for a few distance, caught hold of him and handed him over to the Police.

Lashkar Police have registered a case and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
