Yaduveer seeks action against T. Narasipur Inspector for using abusive language

Mysuru: The controversy in T. Narasipur over the Ganesha procession route and allegations that Inspector Dhananjaya used abusive language against Hindu activists continues to simmer.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP Office this morning, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar opposed restrictions on public roads, asserting that all roads are in the public domain and that the State authorities, including the Police, must maintain law and order without discriminating against Hindu religious traditions.

“People holding responsible positions must understand Hindu traditions and realise that Ganesha installation and worship are performed with devotion and in accordance with rituals. The Inspector has used unconstitutional language and we protested against it,” he said.

Yaduveer alleged that Hindu activists were not involved in any acts of arson and said the Police must respect this. He also referred to past allegations against Inspector Dhananjaya, including an alleged assault on a Dalit person.

Yaduveer alleged that Dhananjaya had warned Hindu activists against taking Ganesha idol processions near mosques or bursting firecrackers along those routes.

He said, the alleged derogatory remarks against a peaceful public procession warranted administrative accountability over the conduct of the Police Inspector.

‘Internal party matter’

On reports of differences between former MLA and City BJP President L. Nagendra and former MP Prathap Simha, Yaduveer said, senior party leaders were holding discussions with both leaders.

He described the issue as an internal party matter and said the discussions were organisational in nature.

‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’

Yaduveer also announced that a ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ would be held in Mysuru from Sept. 17 to Oct. 7 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

The campaign will feature blood donation and medical camps, cleanliness drives, beneficiary outreach and other programmes highlighting the achievements of the Narendra Modi Government. The campaign will focus on service, good governance and welfare initiatives, while taking Government Schemes and policies to beneficiaries at the grassroots level.

The campaign, which commemorates Modi’s 25 years in public service, will include 13 regional programmes, including lighting installations, youth speech and art competitions and community outreach events across the Constituency.

A ‘Seva Jyothi’ programme will be organised in Mysuru on Oct. 7 across the four Assembly Constituencies. A walkathon rally will also be held as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,’ Yaduveer said.

MLC R. Raghu Kautilya, former MLA and City BJP President L. Nagendra, District President Kumbralli Subbanna, BJP Media Spokesperson Mahesh Raje Urs and others were present.
