Mysuru: Punjabi pop, Kannada folk and Hindi film songs came together on the fifth day of Yuva Dasara 2026, as singers Jasmine Sandlas and Naveen Sajju kept the crowd on its feet at the venue near Uttanahalli on the city’s outskirts yesterday.

Jasmine Sandlas, known for her powerful voice and energetic performances, drew loud cheers as she took the stage in vibrant desi attire adorned with Mysuru ‘mallige’ flowers.

She began on a soulful note before moving to high-energy numbers. Punjabi and Hindi hits such as “Je Maine Yaar Naa Miley?”, “Baaki Saare Duniya Jaake Dekh Lo” and “Ali Ali Ali” had the audience dancing, with laser lights and pulsating beats adding to the excitement.

At one point, Sandlas asked the crowd in Kannada, “Where are our boys?” The question drew loud cheers from the youngsters.

Kannada singer Naveen Sajju brought a folk flavour to the evening with songs such as “Shravana Bantu Naadige” and “Shivane Ninnaata Ballavanu Yaryaru”, prompting many in the audience to dance along.

The crowd joined in when the lines “Barisu Kannada Dindimava, O Karnataka Hridaya Shiva”, from Kuvempu’s iconic poem, rang out across the venue, turning the performance into a celebration of Kannada pride.

The mood turned emotional with “Dodmane Dore”, sung in memory of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar. Fans switched on their mobile phone torches and chanted “Appu Ajaramara” in tribute to the actor.

Singers Santosh Benki and MC Bijju added to the evening’s energy, rounding off a musical line-up that brought together different languages and genres.
