Chamarajanagar: Congress MLA C.Puttaranga Shetty of Chamarajanagar Assembly Constituency has scored a hat-trick by defeating BJP candidate K.R. Mallikarjunappa, a first of its kind in the Constituency.

Interestingly12 other candidates from the Constituency have lost their deposits and Vatal Nagaraj of Vatal Prakash has earned the dubious distinction of losing the deposit for the third time in a row.

Another hat-trick win: Congress candidate R. Narendra of Hanur too has scored a hat-trick win defeating Dr. Preetham Nagappa. He had won in polls held in 2008 and 2013 also.
