R-Day: Poetry and speech contests

Marking Republic Day celebration, Ashokapuram Abhimanigala Balaga will be conducting a poetry recitation and short speech contests at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Park in Ashokapuram at 10 am on Jan. 26. Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Balaga Convenor and writer Siddaswamy said that there is no age limit for taking part in the contests.

The theme for the poetry contest is ‘Dr. Ambedkar and the Constitution’ and there will be ten topics on Dr. Ambedkar for the short speech contest, Siddaswamy said adding that there will be prizes for both the contests.  Those interested in taking part, can send their entries through WhatsApp Nos: 95910-20444 or 77609-62993 or 97386-04882, before Jan.22, he said adding that all the participants will be distributed a book on Dr. Ambedkar.
