R. Venkatesh (88), retired KPTCL employee and a Home Guard Commandant, passed away following age-related ailments in city yesterday.

He had also served as the President of Sri Sadananda Subbajettappa Garadi and Sri Nimbujadevi Temple Trust and was a recipient of the President’s Medal for his meritorious service in Home Guard.

A resident of Gokulam 3rd Stage in city, he leaves behind two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill yesterday evening.
