Mysore/Mysuru: Music lovers in Mysuru are in for a soulful evening as Raaga Music Academy presents a grand flute recital featuring Vid. Amith Nadig at Sri Bidaram Krishnappanavara Prasanna Seetharama Mandira on Narayana Shastry Road in city on June 28 at 6 pm.
Vid. Amith Nadig, trained under the eminent Vid. B.K. Anantharam and the legendary Padma Bhushan Dr. R.K. Srikantan, has mastered the intricate Gayaki style of flute playing. A prodigious talent, he is among the youngest ‘A’ graded artistes of All India Radio (AIR) and was recently honoured with the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar by the Government of India.
As a testimony to his craft and talent, he has performed extensively across continents — from Europe and the USA to Southeast Asia and the Middle East — collaborating with leading Indian and international musicians across Karnatak, Hindustani, Jazz and Fusion genres. Notably, he has performed with the world-renowned HR Big Band at the German Jazz Festival and the Alpentone Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
He is also the Managing Trustee of Musicians’ Collective, an NGO fostering community among Karnatak musicians through concerts and workshops.
Joining him on stage will be an esteemed ensemble of artistes: Vid. Keshav Mohankumar on Violin, Vid. Anirudh Bhat on mridanga and Vid. R. Karthik on kanjira — each a seasoned performer in their own right. For further details, contact Ph: 0821-2542069 or Mob: 82777-33410 or 94497-03610.
