RAAGA to host vocal concert by Vidu. Prithvi Bhaskar

Mysore/Mysuru: RAAGA Music Academy will present a grand Karnatak Vocal Concert by the young and talented Vidu. Prithvi Bhaskar at Bidaram Krishnappa’s Prasanna Seetharama Mandira on Narayana Shastri Road in city on May 18 at 6 pm.

Prithvi Bhaskar is a promising young vocalist and a violinist, daughter of Violin Maestro Vid. H.N. Bhaskar and granddaughter of Ganakalabhushana Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy.

She started her training in vocal and violin under the guidance of her grandparents at a very young age and is currently under the tutelage of her father.

She has been performing solo and has been a part of ensembles with senior artistes at prestigious Sabhas and Music Festivals. She had the privilege to accompany senior Vid. Malladi Ramprasad at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram, Mysuru and Mridanga Maestro Dr. Patri Satish Kumar for one of his lectures in Mysuru. She has also played duet and trio violin concerts along with her                                                                       father and grandfather at Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Tirupati and Mysuru.

As a testimony to her prowess in music, she has received many awards and prizes — ‘Baala Kalashri Award’ from Nehru Bala Bhavan, ‘Best Violinist’ from Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, ‘Best Violin Cccompanist’ and ‘Best Vocalist’ award from Nadamaya Music Foundation. She is a recipient of Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) Scholarship from the Central Government and Kannada & Cultural Ministry Scholarship from the Government of Karnataka.

On Saturday, Vidu. Prithvi Bhaskar will be accompanied by Vidu. C.V. Shruti on violin,Vid. Nandan Kashyap on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on ghata.
