Mysuru: Ganabharathi is organising a unique series “Raga Yagna” where different facets of various ragas are explained, described and demonstrated. 

Prof. R. Visweswaran, well- known vainika, musicologist, musician and vaggeyakara will be the resource person. Important features of the raga will be explained, then raga and thana in the raga will be presented in detail. A few important kritis in the raga will be presented. This programme will be highly informative and educative. 

 The third programme in the series will be on Raga Tarangini. Prof. Visweswaran will explain the nuances of the raga and clarify the confusions and ambiguities surrounding the raga. This is a rare opportunity for the students, musicians and music lovers who are interested in appreciating music. 

The programme will be held on Jan. 12 (Sunday) at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar at 10.30 am. He will be accompanied on the mridanga by Mysore A. Radhesh.
