Rahul’s campaign in State enters second day

February 11, 2018

Koppal: AICC President Rahul Gandhi’s four-day poll campaign in the State entered the second day today, with the Congress President set to tour four Assembly segments in Koppal and Raichur districts.

Rahul Gandhi began today’s campaign after having breakfast at Kuknoor Guest House in Koppal district.

On Saturday, kick-starting the party’s poll campaign in the poll-bound State at Hospete in Ballari District, Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘looking at the rear-view mirror and driving.’

Tearing into Modi’s claims on development, Rahul advised the PM to learn from Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on how to run the Government.

Rahul, who started his speech by wishing the people in Kannada at the party’s Janaashirvada Yatra at Hospete, quickly shifted to Hindi and his speech was translated into Kannada by KPCC Working President Dinesh Gundu Rao.

Mocking the PM’s speech in Parliament where he held the Congress party of being responsible for all the ills of the country, Rahul questioned Modi why he does not speak about crucial issues such as unemployment and agrarian problems.

Countering Modi’s ‘10 percent Sarkar’ remark against the Siddharamaiah Government, Rahul Gandhi said the BJP Government in the State earlier had broken all records of corruption and that the BJP had no moral right to speak about corruption.

Concluding his speech by striking an emotional chord with the gathering, Rahul recalled that Sonia Gandhi was elected from Ballari Lok Sabha constituency earlier and he would never forget her remarkable victory from here.
