February 15, 2022

Nanjangud: The row that erupted across the State after Raichur District Court Judge reportedly ordered removal of the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar during the Republic Day celebrations at Raichur Court premises on Jan.26 has refused to die down, with several Dalit and other organisations calling for a Nanjangud bandh on Feb.17 to seek sacking of the Judge.

Taluk Dalit organisation leader

Shankarapura Suresh said that the State Government was silent on taking action against the Judge, who had not only insulted Dr. Ambedkar, but also the Constitution as well.

Charging the State Government of inaction even after the row has continued to rage across the State, he said that many farmer associations, progressive groups and other organsiations have expressed support for the bandh.
