Two arrested in Mandi Police limits

Mysore/Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, who raided three houses in Mandi Police limits yesterday, have seized a substantial quantity of ganja, cash and lethal weapons besides arresting two persons.

Armed with search warrants, the CCB Police, led by Asst. Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mohammed Sharif Rawathar, raided three houses during which they found 2-kg ganja, Rs. 7.30 lakh cash, 10 swords, other lethal weapons & seized them.

The CCB Police have also arrested two persons identified as Roshan Begh and Firdhosh Pasha besides launching a search to nab others, who are absconding.

A case has been registered at Mandi Police Station.

Though the Police are conducting anti-narcotics operations continuously after the Mumbai Police, with the support of Mysuru Police, conducted a massive anti-narcotics operation on a sophisticated drugs manufacturing setup hidden inside a vehicle garage along the Ring Road service lane at Belavatha in July this year, drugs peddling is still going on and yesterday’s  raid is an example for it.

It is to be known how ganja and other narcotic substances are being transported into the city and stored in houses despite the Police keeping vigil on drug peddlers and also how lethal weapons such as daggers, machetes (long) and other such weapons are being manufactured and supplied to anti-social elements though City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar re-launched the Anti-Rowdy Squad recently.
