Mysore/Mysuru: A Railway employee, who was asked to deposit Rs. 1.05 lakh to receive a gift, not only lost his money but also did not receive the costly gift.

The Railway employee, who lost his money, is R. Raghavendra Rao, a resident of ‘K’ Block in Kuvempunagar. Raghavendra had received a post card in his name which stated that he has received a gift as a prize. On May 4, Raghavendra received a call on his mobile phone from mobile phone number 85389-584405 and the caller, identifying himself from an online shopping portal, told him that he has won a prize and asked him to deposit a total of Rs. 1,05,200 besides giving Raghavendra two bank account numbers to which Raghavendra deposited the money, according to the complaint. Mysuru City CEN Crime Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
