Railway recruitment exams in Kannada too: Minister

Bengaluru: Amid complaints that Kannada has been ignored in Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exam, Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna said, the Union Government has made a provision for writing RRB exams in Kannada too.

Speaking to press persons ahead of his visit to KSR Bengaluru Railway Station (Majestic), along with Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday,                                                 Somanna maintained that Kannada has been already introduced in RRB exams.

Pointing out that discussions are going on about giving adequate representation to Kannadigas in Railway promotions, Somanna said, 51 identified  Railway Stations across the State will be upgraded at a cost of Rs. 1,900 crore. Already works have begun in 23 Stations, he added.
