Rain water harvesting need of the hour atop Hill

September 29, 2019

Sir,

It was indeed heartening to read that there will be no water crisis atop Chamundi Hill (SOM dated Sept.23). Efforts of the District Administration in this regard are commendable.

But nowhere in the report there is anything mentioned about harvesting the rain water. Chamundi Hill being a hilly forest region, gets ample rainfall which if harvested properly can meet the demands of the visitors to a large extent.

Measures have to be taken at least now to adopt rain water harvesting techniques to fill the huge tanks built recently.
