Raja Ravivarma Award conferred

Mysore/Mysuru: Senior artist V.G. Andani was conferred with Raja Ravivarma Award for the year 2022 at a function organised jointly by Ravivarma Vidyasamsthe, Ravivarma Art Institute and Department of Kannada and Culture at the Art Institute premises on Sunday.

The award was presented to the senior artist during ‘Raja Ravivarma Award 2022 presentation and Chowkattu Meerida Mukhavadagala Darshana’ function by city’s senior advocate S. Arun Kumar in the presence of other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, advocate Arun Kumar said that Raja Ravivarma Art Institute was a reputed school and to keep up its reputation, it has been recognising and honouring senior artists which are commendable.

Lauding Ravivarma Art Institute Principal Shivakumar Kesaramadu and his wife for organising such award functions, Arun Kumar said that the simplicity of senior artist V.G. Andani is a model for present youth.

Speaking after receiving the award, Andani advised students who wished to pursue their interest in Arts to progress well in their chosen field and try to learn various form of Arts during their learning period.

He also expressed happiness for getting the award and interacted with students.

Director of ‘Mukhavada’ workshop Manjunath Honnapura, former Administrator of Central Lalit Kala Akademi C.S. Krishna Shetty, University of Mysore Syndicate Member E.C. Ningaraja Gowda, Lecturer at Ravindrakalaniketan in Tumakuru Prabhu Harsoor and Principal Shivakumar Kesaramadu and artist Suresh Gowda were present on the occasion.
