Rajyotsava Award: Advisory Panel for selection of achievers formed

Bengaluru: The State Government has constituted an Advisory Committee for the selection of achievers for this year’s Rajyotsava Award

The Advisory Committee consisting of 32 members is headed by Kannada and Culture Minister Sunil Kumar. With the State celebrating the 66th Kannada Rajyotsava this year, it has been decided to present the award to 66 achievers from various fields.

The State Government has evolved a plan as per which members of the public can recommend the names of achievers for this year’s Rajyotsava Award. They can recommend the  names to the Advisory Committee online before Oct. 15. 

The 32 members in the Advisory Panel are: Chairman- Kannada and Culture Minister V. Sunil Kumar; Members: Kannada and Culture Department Secretary, S.N. Sethuram (Theatre), Dr. Krishnaprasad Kodlu (Medicine), K.V. Subramanya (Journalism), V. Manohar (Film), Prof. S.A. Patil (Education), Mohan Alva (Education, Cultural), M.P. Ganesh (Sports), Brigadier Purvimath (Army), Tiger Ashok Kumar (Police), Pailwan Maheshwaran (Wrestling), Dr. Shivalingaiah (Education), Dada Kalandar (Social Activist), Yalandur Avinash (Film), K.S. Jayanth (Social Activist), Ghansham Bhandage (Cinema, Cultural), Dr. Ereshi (Education), B. Shambhulingappa (Miscellaneous), Shivanna (Literature), Nagaraj Nayak (Environment, Literature), Dr. Nemichandra (Science), Baburao Mudabi (Social Activist), Vanaja Sriram (Education), Harish Sriram (Sports), E. Prema (Social Activist), Sahitya Academy President Dr. Vasanthkumar, Lalithakala Academy President D. Mahendra, Nataka Academy President Prof. R. Bheemasena, Janapada Academy Chairperson Manjamma Jogati and Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy President Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma. 

Department of Kannada and Culture Director Rangappa is the Member-Secretary of the Committee.
