Ramakrishna Ashrama’s Swami Sureshanandaji passes away

Mysuru:  Veteran spiritual leader and former President of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, Swami Sureshanandaji (90) passed away here last night.

Swami Sureshanandaji, who was ordained in 1960, had also served Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama at Chandigarh and Bengaluru. Swami Sureshanandaji, who joined Mysuru Ramakrishna Ashrama as a Correspondent in 1972, became its President in 1989 and severed till his retirement in 1997. He was instrumental in setting up Ramakrishna Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education (RIMSE) in Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala premises.

His body was kept for public viewing at RIMSE from  1 pm today, following which the last rites were performed at Gokulam’s Chirashantidhama later this afternoon, according to Ashrama sources.
