Ramanavami at Vasudevacharya’s house

Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Ramanavami’ is being celebrated at the heritage house of Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya in Agrahara with a series of concerts scheduled for five days from today (Apr.14).

Famed violinist Vid. T.K.V. Ramanujacharlu will be presenting a violin concert on Friday (Apr.15) between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm. He will be  accompanied by Vidu. Shruti Ranjani on violin, Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching.

The heritage house will also see presentations by upcoming musicians and students of the Ragalaya Music School, promoted by well-known vocalist Vid. Bellary M. Raghavendra, on five days between Apr. 14 and Apr.18.  These concerts will be held daily between 4 pm and 6 pm and have been sponsored by Mysuru Sangeetha Pratishthana, an organisation dedicated to music.

It may be recalled that a group of music enthusiasts and musicians had joined hands to renovate the house of Sri Acharya, donated to him in early 1930s by the citizens of the city, and was in a dilapidated condition for nearly a decade.

  • Apr. 14: Vocal concert by Hari Das  and Raakesha Iyer
  • Apr. 15: Solo concert by Vibha of Bengaluru
  • Apr. 16: Rendering of compositions on Lord Sri Rama by students of  Ragalaya [Narration: Bellary Raghavendra]
  • Apr. 17: Programme by Mandya students Lakshmi, Thejaswini, Aniruddha, Kanya Sri and Sri Lakshmi
  • Apr. 18: Presentation of Vasudevacharya and other Vaggeyakara Kritis by Amogh Kashyap and Vishwambhara Davanagere, students of Ragalaya, Mysuru
