Rampant betting alleged in high-profile Chamundeshwari

May 14, 2018

Stake includes livestock and agricultural lands too

Mysuru: As the time starts ticking for the Assembly election results, betting seems to have become rampant in Chamundeshwari Constituency too possibly owing to its high-profile status. Obviously, the punters are said to be having a field-day.

Chamundeshwari Constituency has evolved a prestige battle between Congress candidate and Chief Minister Siddharamaiah and JD(S) candidate and MLA G.T. Devegowda. That could be the only prime factor  to trigger betting with participation by supporters of the two leaders.

According to a source, the stake for betting is not just limited to cash but also include livestock and agricultural land. However, the betting seems to be lying dormant possibly restricted to close and trusted confidants of punters.
