Rampant burning of dried grass causes pollution

February 9, 2025

Sir,

There has been rampant and unscientific burning of dried grass and waste materials in the open space near Falcon Tyres on KRS Road. This causes severe pollution, with smoke and ash spreading in the air. On windy days, the situation worsens.

The worst affected are elderly citizens and children, who suffer from breathing difficulties due to this pollution. Though authorities have banned open waste burning, violations continue unchecked.

Falcon Tyres

I urge the authorities and the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (located just a stone’s throw away) to take note of this violation, initiate strict action against the culprits, and put an end to this menace.

Let’s stop pollution before it’s too late.
