Rampant signal jumping

March 31, 2019

Sir,

In spite of having a couple of cameras installed at the junction close to  V.V. Mohalla Traffic Police Station, signal jumping by impatient motorists is rampant.  The way motorists jump the signal and drive head on,  against the on-coming vehicles  causes jitters to the rules-abiding motorists. Probably the cameras fixed at this junction are defunct and serve  as  a showpiece or the cameras are not focused to capture the vehicle registration number and the specific offences.  This is a busy junction with a moderately heavy traffic density and traffic rules violators can cause unwarranted, unwanted and unpleasant situations, if not curtailed seriously by the Traffic Police.
