Ramps needed at Kukkarahalli Lake

April 1, 2024

Sir,

Kukkarahalli Lake is a spot visited by people of all ages from youngsters to elderly. I would like to point out that on the second gate side (Double Road side) as soon as you enter, there are ten steps that one needs to alight while going around the Lake.

Keeping in mind the need of elderly who have knee pain etc., I would suggest that a ramp be constructed so that even people with wheel-chair can go  around the Lake.

The picture is of the bridge at the Lake which has two steps.

Also there is a small bridge that needs to be crossed and even in that bridge there are two steps on one side where it needs to be converted into ramp for wheelchair access. This initiative will be part of implementing accessible tourism requirements at this tourist spot. Hope the Tourism Department authorities will ask University of Mysore, under whose maintenance the Lake comes, to build these two ramps.
