Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra students pedal for environment conservation

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of World Environment Day, the students of Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra took out a bicycle rally to spread the message on environment conservation.

The bicycle rally was flagged off by University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar. Head of the Department of Botany Dr. Amrutesh, plant experts Dr. Shivamurthy, Dr. Janardhan, Dr. Nagendran and Dr. Girish provided information on various trees grown in Manasagangothri campus during the bicycle rally.

Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra Secretary Chandrashekar and Mallaraje Urs, Directors Dr. L. Savitha and Pradhanacharya Anitha were present.

A fancy dress with the theme ‘The Only Earth’ for children in the age group of three to seven years was held on the occasion at a programme held at Manasagangothri in city yesterday.

More than 300 students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff of Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra took part in the Environment Day programme.
