Re-electing Modi has become inevitable, says Suresh Kumar

BJP State Spokesperson and former Law Minister S. Suresh Kumar addressing the gathering during the interaction programme with advocates at Rajendra Kalamandira on Ramanuja Road here yesterday. Karnataka Bar Council member B.R. Chandramouli, Mysuru Bar Association President Anand Kumar, senior advocates P.D. Medappa and O. Sham Bhat were present.

Mysuru:  BJP State Spokesperson and MLA S. Suresh Kumar has said that changing the Constitution by a political party according to its whims and fancies is an impossible task and BJP will not even think about altering the Constitution. “False charges are being spread by people who were in power for decades and who are now feeling like fish out of water without power,” he said.

He was speaking at an interaction organised by Lawyers’ Forum of Karnataka at Rajendra Kalamandira on Ramanuja Road yesterday. “Hit-and-run statements have become rampant these days and the Congress has been falsely stating that the BJP would change the Constitution if voted to power again. Telling one lie a hundred times has become the birthright of the Congress which is desperate to come to power at any cost,” he said.

Hitting out at Congress leaders who have amassed wealth and had intentionally kept the people below the poverty line since many decades to further their family and political interests, Suresh Kumar said that PM Narendra Modi has done nothing for his family but has done well to the nation. “For Congressmen, one family is their nation while for Modi the whole nation is one family. Re-electing Modi has become inevitable,” he said.

Citing pro-people administration policies by Modi including Ujjwala scheme where 7 crore women have been given LPG connections freeing them from smoke-filled cooking environs, building 9 crore toilets, providing electricity to 18,000 houses in just 900 days, Suresh Kumar said that the Modi government has achieved what the 10-year UPA government could not even think of achieving.

“Modi gave supreme powers to the Defence Forces to strike at the enemy nation after the Pulwama terrorist strike. The UPA government never gave a chance to the Defence Forces to counter Pakistan. And when our Air Force bombed the terror camps inside Pakistan, they are asking for proof,” he said.

Suresh Kumar questioned, “Can you imagine people like Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee and Mayawati sitting on Prime Minister’s chair? If Modi did not become the Prime Minister again, India will go back to 50 years and the present world ranking of 5 which was 11 earlier will sink,” he said and appealed voters to re-elect Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, thereby strengthening Modi’s hands.

“In 2014, Narendra Modi was appealing voters to elect him and in 2019, people are canvassing for Modi. That’s the change Modi has brought and he must be re-elected,” he added. Expressing confidence about the BJP coming to power in the Centre again, he said, “The BJP will win more than 22 seats in Karnataka. There is Narendra Modi’s wave across the State and we will win the highest number of seats.”
