Reduce traffic hazards on Subhashnagar 2nd Main

March 7, 2025

Sir,

I am writing to highlight a critical issue that has been causing inconvenience and endangering lives in our area. The problem pertains to 2nd Main, Subhashnagar, near the Old Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway.

A garage situated adjacent to the main road routinely uses the road as a parking area for vehicles under repair.

This misuse of public space creates significant traffic bottlenecks and poses grave risks to commuters, especially at the 2nd Main intersection leading to the highway.

Just today, a near-fatal accident occurred when a passing truck on the main road was obscured from view due to a car parked by the garage mechanics. Such incidents are distressingly frequent.

What adds to the frustration is that this issue has been reported multiple times in the past, but no concrete action has been taken by the authorities.

I am deeply disappointed with the lack of response from the Traffic and Police Departments. Their continued inaction reflects a disregard for public safety and the well-being of the community.

I once again appeal to the authorities concerned to enforce parking regulations and take necessary measures, such as penalising offenders or relocating the garage’s operations, to prevent further accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow on the busy road.
