A Success Story’ selected for ‘100 Countries, 100 Projects’
Mysore/Mysuru: The project ‘Rejuvenation of Lakes: A Success Story’ submitted by Rotary Club of SEVA Mysore under the guidance of Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat (ABGP) National Working President Dr. M.P. Varsha has been selected for ‘100 Countries, 100 Projects’ competition organised by Rotary International at Dallas, USA.
Dr. M.P. Varsha, who is also the Charter-President of Rotary Club of SEVA Mysore, will deliver a keynote address on rejuvenation of lakes at Earth-X Expo in Dallas, USA. He has been working for rehabilitation for destitute, development of farmers, financial self-reliance of youth and sustainable and healthy society.
Dr. Varsha has received global recognition for rejuvenation of more than 150 lakes in Mysuru with an aim to make it as a first water-resourceful district.
It may be recalled that Dr. M.P. Varsha, who is also the Managing Trustee of Centre For Rural Education Development & Innovation Technology of India (CREDIT-I) had successfully rejuvenated Parasanayakana Kere (Lake) located on the foot of Chamundi Hill under CSR funds of Asian Paints.
Currently, CREDIT- I is involved in restoration of over 140 lakes in Mysuru and Nanjangud, with an aim to bring them back to life by 2030.
