Release 9 TMC water to TN Cauvery Authority tells Karnataka

New Delhi: The Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA), which met here this morning, directed Karnataka Government to release 9.19 TMC of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu as June quota.

The meeting, chaired by Central Water Commission Chairman H. Masood Hussain, deliberated on issues related to release of water from the upper Riparian States to the lower Riparian States.

After deliberations, the CWMA directed Karnataka to release 9.19 TMC from the Cauvery basin reservoirs to Mettur Dam in Tamil Nadu.

Representatives from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala attended the meeting, it is learnt.
