Mysore/Mysuru: Marking the 228th birth anniversary of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, Maharaja’s High School and PU College Alumni Association members, staff and students offered floral tribute to the bust of the Maharaja at the College premises on JLB Road here this morning.
Speaking to presspersons on the occasion, Alumni Association President B.S. Sridhar Raje Urs said that the College building has a history of 183 years. Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar had built this School to provide education to the poor.
“As many students joined the School, the High School building was extended by constructing a new building. Later, Bifurcated Government Maharaja Pre-University College was constructed by the Maharaja in Nazarbad. The century-old building has a great history and importance,” he said.
