Renowned Gamaka artiste P. Vilasakumari Sharma no more

Mysuru: Noted Gamaki Vidu. P. Vilasakumari Sharma (93) passed away on Feb. 23 in city. She leaves behind 2 sons, 1 daughter and a host of students, relatives and friends.

She was a senior grade artiste at Akashvani and was a recipient of ‘Gamaka Kalashri’ award from Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy and ‘Sri Gomateshwara Vidyapeetha Samskrutika Prashasti’ given by Sri Kshetra Shravanabelagola Mutt. She has also been honoured by Suttur Mutt and various organisations for her service in the field of Music and Gamaka.
