Resident Doctors continue protest on Day-2

May 6, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Resident Doctors (MD/ MS students), working at K.R., Cheluvamba and PKTB Hospitals, attached to Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) and COVID Hospital, continued their protest on the second day today, seeking hike in stipend by sporting a black band around their arms and expressing support to the State-wide protest call given by Karnataka Association of Resident Doctors.

MMC&RI RDA (Resident Doctors Association) Vice-President Dr. D.N. Puneeth, speaking to ‘SOM’ said that the twitter handle ‘Office of Dr. K. Sudhakar’ has posted this morning that the Government has responded to the demand of Resident Doctors and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar has asked officials concerned to submit a proposal in this regard. However, as there is no official information from the Government in this regard, as planned earlier, we are continuing our duty wearing black arm band. Future course of action will be decided by the Karnataka Association of Resident Doctors.”
