Retired ASI killed in accident

Nanjangud:  A retired Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), who was on his way to fetch milk near Hullahalli Circle in Nanjangud, was killed when a truck rammed into his scooter this morning.

The deceased is Shivanna (63), a resident of Vidyanagar in the town. He leaves behind his wife Meenakshi and two daughters.

Today at 7.30 am, Shivanna was proceeding on his scooter (KA-10-L-1505) to fetch milk from the Nandini Milk booth near Hullahalli Circle, when the truck (TN-43-F-4617), coming from Mysuru side tried to avoid a ditch and rammed into the scooter resulting in Shivanna sustaining serious injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru, where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead.’ 

Meanwhile, his wife has lodged a complaint at Nanjangud Traffic Police Station and the Police are investigating.
