Mysore/Mysuru: Retired Dy.SP Vijaykumar, who is named as the second accused in a cheating case and had gone absconding, has been arrested by Lakshmipuram Police yesterday.

The Police had arrested prime accused former Corporator R. Somasundar on Sept. 28 and had produced him before a Magistrate who had remanded him to judicial custody. Vijaykumar, who is accused of helping the prime accused in cheating had gone absconding.

The two accused, who had promised to get a MUDA site to one Venkataraju, a fast food vendor, had reportedly taken Rs. 12 lakh from him (Venkataraju), and had given fake site documents to Venkataraju.

When Venkataraju came to know that the documents were fake after he got them checked, had lodged a complaint against Somasundar and Vijaykumar with Lakshmipuram Police. A FIR was registered on Sept. 25.
