Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Land Records coming under the Revenue Department has ordered re-survey of land coming under different survey numbers in the taluk and the plot where SaRa Convention Hall has come up at Dattagalli in city, which is owned by the wife of K.R. Nagar JD(S) MLA S.R. Mahesh.
Based on a petition filed by RTI activist N. Gangaraj on Aug.11, demanding a comprehensive survey of Gomaala lands and other Government lands in order to save them from encroachment, the Commissioner of the Department of Land Records has formed a team for the conduct of a re-survey of lands coming under different survey numbers in Jayapura Hobli and Kasaba Hobli of Mysuru taluk and Belagola Hobli of Srirangapatna taluk.
Deputy Director of Land Records at Mandya B.G. Umesh, Sujay Kumar of Tumakuru and Assistant Director of Land Records at Davanagere T.K. Lohit are part of the team. The team has been asked to carry out a re-survey of lands and submit a report within 10 days.
The team, apart from carrying out a re-survey of the plot (land) of SaRa Convention Hall, will also conduct a re-survey of contentious lands coming under Kergalli Survey No.115 and Survey Nos. 69, 72, 72/1 and 71/1 of Yadahalli village in Jayapura Hobli, lands coming under Dattagalli village survey No.130/3 and other Survey Nos. in Kasaba Hobli of Mysuru taluk, Lingambudhi Survey Nos. 10 and 65 of Kasaba Hobli and lands coming under Survey No. 981 of Belagola Hobli in Srirangapatna taluk.
It may be mentioned here that following allegations of land encroachment against MLA S.R. Mahesh, a committee headed by Mysuru Regional Commissioner had conducted a survey of the land where SaRa Convention Hall has come up in the city, a couple of months ago.
The Committee then gave a clean chit to MLA S.R. Mahesh, reportedly absolving him of all charges of land encroachment or other irregularities. But Gangaraj, contesting the Regional Commissioner’s (RC) clean chit, filed the petition, claiming that the RC’s report was based only on a few factors and ignored several other vital data. The report was an in-comprehensive one as it did not take into account all other factors and data when the survey was carried out, Gangaraj had argued. Meanwhile, reacting to the re-survey order, MLA S.R. Mahesh wondered whether the boundaries of SaRa convention Hall at Dattagalli could be extended by a trolley.
Maintaining that the land where the convention hall has come up remains still, he said that he was not bothered whether local officials or authorities from other districts carry out a re-survey.
Asserting that there is no question of any encroachment or any other irregularities in respected of the land, Mahesh said that he has submitted a written complaint to the Chief Minister and the State Chief Secretary against alleged corrupt practices of previous Mysuru DC Rohini Sindhuri.
“ I will raise corruption charges against IAS Officer Rohini Sindhuri during the forthcoming Assembly session too”, he pointed out.
