New voters can enroll till Oct.31

Mysore/Mysuru: Youths, who attain 18 years of age as on Jan.1, 2022, can apply for inclusion of their names in the electoral list at concerned polling booths till Oct.31.

In a press release, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham said that apart from new voters, other citizens who do not find their name in the voter list, too can enroll by Oct.31. Also, voters can submit the specific forms relating to change of address, any correction in names or address etc., during this period. 

Pointing out that the Election Commission of India has issued the schedule for fresh voters registration, the DC said that as per the schedule, the enrolment of new voters will take place from Aug.9 till Oct.31, during which revision of voters list too will be taken up. 

Following the Oct.31 deadline, the District Administration will publish the draft voter list on Nov.1 and the citizens can file their objections, if any, till Nov.30. The authorities will take up disposal of  accepted objections from Dec.20, following which the final list of voters will be published on Jan.5, 2022, the release said.
