Rider dies as bike rams into bridge

Mysore/Mysuru: A 30-year-old bike rider was killed on the spot after he reportedly rammed the bike into the retaining wall of a bridge near Bontagalli Gate on Bannur Main Road yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Manju, a resident of Yalagowdanahundi in Bannur hobli of T. Narasipur taluk.

Manju was proceeding from Mysuru towards Bannur when it was raining heavily last night and when he neared Bontagalli Gate, he is said to have lost control of the bike and rammed it into the wall of the bridge.

Manju, who sustained severe head injuries, is said to have breathed his last on the spot.

A case has been registered at Varuna Police Station.
