Rider injured as unidentified car rams into moped

Mysuru:  A moped rider was seriously injured when an unidentified car rammed into the moped he was riding near Sathagalli Ring Road Junction here on Wednesday.

The seriously injured rider has been identified as 45-year-old K. Mahadevu, son of Kyathaiah of Rammanahalli in the taluk. He has been shifted to a private hospital here.

Mahadevu was proceeding towards Mysuru from Rammanahalli on Wednesday morning on his moped, when an unidentified Innova car, coming from Bannur side rammed into the moped near the Ring Road Junction and sped away. The public, who saw Mahadevu writhing in pain, shifted him to a private hospital.

The accident has been captured by the CCTV camera installed at a hotel. The footage shows a white coloured Innova car involved in the accident, but the registration number of the vehicle is not clear. Siddarthanagar Traffic Police, who have registered a case, have launched a hunt to trace the vehicle.
