Rider killed as goods vehicle runs over him

Mysuru: A scooter rider was killed on-the-spot when a goods vehicle ran over him near VTU College on the Outer Ring Road yesterday afternoon.

The deceased is P. Harry Vinod (37), a real estate agent and a resident of Bamboo Bazaar. He leaves behind his wife and a five-year-old daughter.

Harry was proceeding on the Outer Ring Road towards the Bannur Ring Road junction on his Honda Activa scooter (KA-09-HK-7760), when a speeding goods vehicle (KA-12-B-7365) ran over him from behind near the VTU College, resulting in Harry being killed on-the-spot.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Inspector Aruna Kumari and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, seized the goods vehicle and have taken driver Parashuram into custody.
